"Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." -- James 5:16

DEAR FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND FIRST TIME VISITORS,

Justin Thornton
Welcome to Justin’s web page. We will post updates here as often as possible to share all that is going on with Justin’s treatment.

In July of 2006 Justin was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphatic Leukemia (T-Cell ALL). The treatment regimen required 26 consecutive months of intense chemo and radiation therapy. Justin completed his therapy in August of 2008 and appeared to be healthy and on his way to full recovery.

His first test one month after chemo therapy showed evidence of the cancers return in his central nervous system. Justin started the treatment regimen again to eradicate the disease. After much prayer, treatment deliberation and counsel with Justin’s medical team, we concluded that a bone marrow transplant will be the best way to combat this disease.

Justin and our family are traveling to Duke University Medical Center, (Children Health Center, Division of Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation) in Durham, North Carolina to receive his transplant.

We need your continued prayers and support as the coming months will be difficult.

Blessings family and friends.  Since Justin’s discharge in January he has been recovering in the Durham area while his transplant continues to get stronger and his immune system recovers.  He had a few minor setbacks that forced him back to inpatient care for seven weeks.  He was discharged three weeks ago and continues to get stronger by the day.  His medical team predicts that he will return to Maryland sometime in the summer.  We thank all of our family and friends for the prayers, support and love.

With great affection and love,

Blessings to you all!
